scope ±0 surprisesWenbru builds the operating systems behind engineering workshops and service businesses: jobs, machines, tooling, stock, quotes, job cards, equipment history, invoices, audit trails. Designed in Vaalpark by a Red Seal turner who started writing code because the workshop needed it.
Most operational software is written by people who have never waited for a job card, hunted for a tool, or explained to a customer why the invoice is late.
You know which machine is free before the planner does.
Owner · Workshop manager · Foreman · Planner · Storeman
The quote your technician signed at 10:40 can be a job card at 10:41 — no retyping.
Owner · Office admin · Finance · Technician
Engineering captures the job with its number, priority and required-by date — even before the work physically arrives.

The planning board orders per-machine queues; the assign screen offers only authorised, available operators and warns of double-booking.

Machinists start, pause with a reason, resume and complete their own work; the Tool Cupboard books tooling to the job in a few taps.

The wall board shows priorities, running machines and holds; every tool and insert is on the stock ledger, and every change on the audit trail.

Website quote requests, bookings and walk-ins arrive as records in a pipeline — NEW, CONTACTED, QUOTED, WON — not as e-mails.
ENQUIRY → LEAD → QUOTE
Build the quote in the office or on the customer’s premises; prices come from the catalogue; the customer signs on the technician’s phone or through a link.
DRAFT → ISSUED → CLIENT SIGNED
The signed quote starts a job card with the lines copied in; the technician logs each unit serviced and captures the completion signature.
SIGNED QUOTE → JOB CARD → APPROVED
One record per physical unit with serial, location, last and next service; every movement logged; due and overdue reminders sent to the customer.

The invoice is built from the work actually done, on your letterhead with your banking details; payments, deposits and overdue accounts tracked.

release ≠ rewriteMichael Wentzel qualified as a Red Seal Turner and spent his working life at the machine before he wrote a line of production code. He knows what a foreman actually wants to see at 07:00: which job is on which machine, who has the boring bar, and why the P1 stopped.
Wenbru’s products come out of that. They are not generic business software with a workshop skin — they are built around the job card, the tool cupboard, the signed quote and the audit trail, because those are the objects the work is made of.
Wenbru builds products and configures them per client. That is how one small South African company can run software for an engineering workshop and a service business at the same time, and keep both honest.
“Software should hold tolerance too.”
